Writing Good Articles Is Part Of Affiliate Marketing

Monday, October 18, 2010

Article writing is the primary way to create traffic to your website. You've heard this, but are not quite sure how it works. Perhaps I can explain.

You are attempting to market a product. It may be yours, it may be someone else's. It doesn't matter, you have to get people to find the website, and hopefully they will be interested in your product. Articles are a way to do this. They are not the only way it is done, but writing good articles is part of affiliate marketing. Most marketers consider it a major part of the process.
The articles you write offer people information about your product or service they can use.

Let's say you run a Doggy Day Care. You might write an article about the pros and cons of putting your dog in a day care situation. Or perhaps even one about the health risks involved. Not all articles need to be positive, to be informative. People are interested in all sides of a given subject.
People interested in Doggy Day Care will, hopefully, find your article and click through to your website. That is the theory. And actually, it works like that. But it isn't quite as easy as that may sound.

Actually writing good articles is the easy part if you follow a few tips, which I will give you later.
What is not so easy is getting your articles read.
Just writing one or two will do you little good. Article marketing does take persistence and effort.
Here are 4 important points to remember about Article Marketing that should help to make them good:

1. Be consistent. It is vital. Make yourself a writing schedule and stick to it. Article marketing is an on-going process. You'll get more visitors with more articles. Write three articles a week, or one every day, or whatever fits a schedule that you can stick with. Remember - the more articles the more visitors.

2. Article marketing takes time to see results, it is a long-term strategy. It builds upon itself and your traffic will grow with time. As long as your articles are on the web, they are working for you. Results will vary. Sometimes you'll get traffic quickly, sometimes you won't. But, as time goes by, your traffic will steadily increase, based on the number of articles you write.

3. An article is not a sales pitch. Save that for your website. Make your article read-worthy and in the author box at the end, invite your reader to learn more at your website. You can write a review of a product, as long as it is not a sales letter. Reviews give pros and cons. Most article directories will accept reviews, but will not accept sales letters.

4. But, you must be honest. When you have written many articles on a particular topic you begin to be seen as an expert. People will rely on you. If you are not being sincere, it will be discovered quickly, and you will get little traffic from your articles.
The goal of every marketer is to generate traffic to his website. Article marketing is a very powerful way to do this, and can be very effective if you put in the effort to provide your readers with loads of quality content.

You must convince your reader that what you are offering is important and that it responds to their needs. When you've written good articles, your readers trust you and click on the links to your website. Continue to provide informative articles and every single click on your article is building your traffic.
